Greetings my fellow members of the Knoxville ASCE branch,
Thank you for entrusting me to be president for the next year. Working together this branch continues to serve the local members, young members and students with a growth in education, local projects and serving our community.
This year the 2019 ASCE Southeast Student Conference will be in Knoxville at the University of Tennessee. This event will bring over twenty schools to the Knoxville area to engage in networking and different engineering type competitions. I remember traveling with a group of fellow students from TTU to Florida State to compete in the conference. This conference taught me teamwork, problem solving and most importantly that engineers can have fun. We have been a supporter of the student branch and we will need to continue to support them during this time of competition and organization of the conference. As the local branch, I hope, we as the members of the engineering community can rally behind the students to make this a successful event.
Our monthly meetings will be the third Tuesdays of the month with a wide range of topics and projects. We as a branch want to continue to serve you the best way we can. Keep an eye out for the meeting invites, field trips and seminars that will happen this year. Please send any comments, questions or concerns to Knoxvilleasce@gmail.com and we will be in contact with you.
Once again thank you for this position.
