2024 Outstanding Student Chapter Member Award

Isabelle Hamby, S.M. ASCE

Isabelle served as the 2023-2024 University of Tennessee ASCE Student Chapter Volunteer Chair and Captain of the Sustainable Solutions Team. As Captain of Sustainable Solutions, she led her team to the 2024 ASCE National Student Symposium at BYU in Provo, UT. Also during her time at the University of Tennessee, she worked an internship at Goodwyn Mills Cawood in Nashville, TN. We greatly appreciate Isabelle's service and the positive influence that she had on her peers. Isabelle graduated this Spring with her BS and is now working on her MS at Ohio State University

2024 Outstanding Young Engineer Award

Zachary Bowling, P.E., M. ASCE

Zachary Bowling, P.E. has been with Gresham Smith for three years designing and developing roadway plans across the state. Prior to Gresham Smith he worked with Chatham County in Savannah, GA as a Project Manager for six years managing roadway and park projects. While at the county, Zachary was able to raise the overall health score of the over 300 miles of roadway the county managed by working with Georgia Tech to implement a rating system and target the roads that needed the most attention. Zach currently serves as the President for the Knoxville Branch.

2024 Outstanding Engineering Educator Award

Sarah Mobley, Ph.D., P.E. M. ASCE

Sarah Mobley joined the Civil and Environmental Engineering faculty at the University of Tennessee in August of 2019. Prior to attending graduate school, she held the position of lead engineer for the Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Parks Design and Construction Section. Through this position, she qualified for and attained her Professional License. Mobley received her MS in geotechnical engineering and PhD in structural engineering from the University of South Florida. During her graduate studies, she was awarded first place in the Deep Foundations Institute Educational Trust Student Paper Competition and was given the Association of Drilled Shaft Contractors Teri Dress Scholarship for women in Deep Foundations research. Her specialties in teaching and research are materials testing, experimental stress theory and transducer design, deep foundation construction and quality control, electrochemical diagnostic techniques as well as understanding the importance of the support fluid concrete interface in drilled foundation applications.

2024 Distinguished Service Award

Patrick Fiveash, P.E., M. ASCE

Patrick has worked for Gresham Smith since June 2013 as a senior transportation engineer and leads the roadway design group in East Tennessee. He has 19 years of experience with a variety of transportation projects in the east Tennessee, the south east and Dubai.  He is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.  He is has been married to his wife Emily for 25 years and has daughter Zadie and son Grey. Patrick has coached club soccer for 8 years and enjoys helping his players become great player on the field and outstanding gentleman outside of soccer. Patrick enjoys trail running in East Tennessee and has competed in a number of ultra marathons. Patrick currently serves as the Community Outreach Chair for the Knoxville Branch.
